area as you make your way into the macarthur maze but road work northern portion of the golden gate bridge is down to one lane as you dip into the bridge and it is wide open with four lanes past the construction the scene north end. eastbound dumbarton bridge road work until 5:00 this morning. >> we are coming up on 4:32. happening now, san francisco police are investigating a chase that resulted in officers opening fire on a stolen car and ended in a violent four-vehicle crash. abc7 news reporter is live at 5th and mission where the chase came to a screeching halt. >> it was an undercover operation involving in a stolen car and ended in a four-car pileup behind me. the scene at 5th and mission has just been cleared but it is where police say the driver of a stolen car has collided with a taxicab. two other cars were hit by the cab and there were injuries.

moments before that police fired shots the scene stolen car suspect after the driver may have tried to run down an officer after police put spike strips in the street to stop the town car. >> officers laid out spike strips to disable the vehicle. the suspect vehicle drove on the sidewalk and at one point the officer was on the sidewalk that was deployed the strips discharged the firearm fearing for his safety. >> the spike strips were put down. the suspect was arrested after the crash white house incident. others involved in the crash, bystanders, were hurt, but are expected to be okay with nonlife-threatening injuries. live in san francisco for abc7 news. >> thank you. developing news, prosecutors say this morning they will pursue

premeditated murder against olympic track store oscar pistorius, the double amputee who ran on blades was formally charged with murdering his girlfriend in south africa. oscar pistorius sobbed as the judge read the murder charge. cameras everyone not allowed inside. yesterday morning, his girlfriend, 30-year-old model, reeva steenkamp, was shot and killed inside his home. early reports were oscar pistorius mistook her for a burglar but police say neighbors her noises before gunshots were fired and they say there were previous domestic incidents at house. >> the agony is over for 4,000 people on a crippled cruise ship or finally back on land and headed home. the shipped docked in mobile, alabama, and people excitedly disembarked kissing the ground glad to be back on land. it too some passengers several

the killer is caught. we will have more in a live report from abc7 news reporter in the next half hour. >> c.h.p. investigators will be back the scene home of the man who threatened to assassinate state senator leland yee. a device was taken from the home and detonated at a remote site. the suspect is 45-year-old everett basham is due in court today. officers arrested him on tuesday for threatening a state official. he is charged with illegal weapons. the senator yee spoke of the case yesterday saying he received an e-mail a month ago threat being assassination if he did not stop pushing for gun control legislation. authorities in sonoma are looking for a man who may have robbed three banks, two in less than an hour. police say a man walked into the u.s. bank branch inside the safe s way on commerce boulevard yesterday and demanded money

74. everyone on the peninsula if the low-to-mid 70's today. head out to the coast and temperatures are in the mid-to-upper 60's with total sunshine. upper 60's downtown and south san francisco and sausalito, san rafael, petaluma, 70's around novato and santa rosa, and up to 70 across the east bay shore and 71 in oakland setting a record high yesterday at 72 the scene airport. low 70's throughout the east bay shore and walnut creek and pleasanton and livermore and antioch are the warmer spots at 72. low-to-mid 70's around monterey bay, a gorgeous day for a drive on the peninsula. tonight, a few hours in the 30's like cloverdale and santa rosa and everyone else in the 40's and san francisco could be 50 again. the changes in the seven-day outlook show four to six degrees cooler on sunday. a couple more degrees of cooling on monday, and dry through the holiday weekend and look how we are locked in the 50's with rain, tuesday, possibly

judge dismissed a lawsuit of the city of oakland to keep the largest medical marijuana dispensary open and ruled that the center can continue operating while it challenges a crackdown by the justice department which is trying to seize the property. the city of oakland contends their residents and taxpayers will be harmed if the center is forced to close. the judge says the landlords and the club are entitled to sue. >> california's insurance watch dog says blue cross has agreed to reduce rate increase for 630,000 policy holders, the insurance commissioners says anthem agreed to reduce a planned hike on customer premiums after the state conducted a review. anthem blue cross proposes an increase of 18 percent but now is reducing that to 13.8 percent. it is estimated to change policyholders $54 million. the increase was effective february 1. >> food lovers are looking for creative ways to celebrate
